Ladies, Wine and Design is one of the most famous women-driven spaces of the design industry across the world. It was started by Jessica Walsh as an initiative to share the injustices suffered by women-designers all along the design industries.
I felt completely honoured but also, I felt the duty to share my story:
I was young and naive when I received my first National Prize for Culture... I was (and still I am) a misfit in the "theatre scene" and I was completely unaware of the gossips. After a while, I realised people was talking behind my back: "I bet she slept with someone to get the prize"... "she's too young"...
It hurts when people judge you, when they don't take you seriously for a stupid reason (genre, age, etc.) but when you follow your heart and do what you do for yourself, no one can bring you down. Try to share your stories with others whenever you have space... it will help you feel vulnerable and maybe, someone can resonate with you as well.
